We have looked at about thirty mini-projectors, BUT there are a suite of particular features that we want to see to make it "correct" and most of them were missing something.

Here's what we wanted to see:

• very compact and light
• built-in memory
• removable and rechargeable battery with at least an hour battery life
• bright LED projection engine with long bulb life
• ease of use - intuitive and logical
• memory slot for adding memory
• VGA hardware port
• have a remote
• not be too loud (fan noise)

That's what we wanted, and it has been hard to find.  

This projector had everything we wanted, and more.

One of the key uses for a projector like this is that someone needs to be able to walk into a conference room, take it out of their pocket and just put it on the table, dim the lights, and fire up their presentation.This projector has the built-in memory and the internal battery to do just that.  It also can take an additional 8GB of memory - so it can hold tons of stuff, even several movies you can project anywhere. It has a battery that will last about 1.5 hours which should be good enough for any presentation. The speaker should be as loud and as clear as possible as it can be in such a compact space. A hardware (as opposed to virtual) VGA port is key, too. Many projectors say they have "VGA support" by using the USB port to receive the video from a PC. We don't like that. That requires a software driver. Windows drivers can be notoriously unstable, they can change, Windows versions can change, there are different kinds of USB ports, different operating systems, (what if the user wants to use a Mac?), etc. There are too many things that can go wrong when you need software.  If a projector has a VGA port, then you know it will work. All laptops have VGA ports because all are designed with professors and conference rooms in mind. This projector has a clever hybrid port that has a breakout connector that will accommodate VGA, Component (YPBR) and standard AV (you know, three RCA jacks - one yellow for video, and a red and a white for left and right audio.)  And, the projector has a stereo 3.5" jack, so you can play a movie and run the sound out to a colossal giant stereo system have a have a real home theatre experience.  They packed a LOT of capability into this little guy!

In short, our wish list was fulfilled in this micro-sized LED projector. Everything we think it should have, it has. Except for a slot to stick in dime-sized HD video disks....oh yeah, those don't exist yet....
